Edible Perler Beads

Camps are winding down, and the flurry of shopping for school supplies , school shoes , uniforms etc. has begun. Nevertheless, there still seems to be some time left for fun family activities. Here is a new twist to good old Perler Beads! You can now design and create your own edible craft. All you will need is a package of Rainbow Twizzlers Twists, an iron, and some parchment paper, and you’re on your way to some “sweet” fun. From simple to sophisticated, all ages will enjoy creating, making, and then eating this cool colorful craft.

Supplies:

Directions:

  1. Cut up Twizzlers into ¼ inch pieces.
  2. Draw an outline for your picture on a piece of  paper.
  3. Fill your picture with cut up Twizzlers.

4. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of Twizzlers.
5. Use hot iron to fuse the pieces together Allow to cool and enjoy!

  • I tried it with my kids- howerever the candy ended up sticking to the paper and was hard to get off- any suggestion what else to do? Would having them do the design on parchment paper be better idea
